Since its founding in 1997, The CRY HAVOC Company has been committed to the development of new plays and to the development of artists by providing them an environment in which they can challenge the boundaries of their talent and technique. During this time, CRY HAVOC has fostered the talent of some 200 artists, many of whom have gone on to work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in major films, and television – and who continue to return home to CRY HAVOC to do their most challenging work. We have also produced the premieres of more than 25 new plays – many of which have gone on to be produced at major Off-Broadway and regional venues.

In 2008, with its formal incorporation as a not-for-profit theater, The CRY HAVOC Company renews its ten-year commitment to its ongoing developmental and educational programs. Moreover, CRY HAVOC newly commits itself to bringing the best of the new plays that it develops to a New York audience in fully realized, union-contract, Off-Broadway productions featuring the CRY HAVOC Resident Artists.

By continuing to support a rigorous development process and fostering a community of artists committed to challenging each other to work at their very limits, CRY HAVOC intends to become a sustained voice of raw, provocative, and humane theater on the Off-Broadway stage.
